What is SOC 2?
SOC 2 is an American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) framework to validate that organizational controls and practices effectively safeguard the privacy and security of customer data.
As a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution, customers provide ProsperOps with least privilege access to their cloud environments and trust us to properly secure, manage, and control access to data. Achieving SOC 2 Type II compliance gives customers assurance that we have proper controls in place, as verified by an independent, third-party auditor.
Within the SOC 2 framework, there are two types:
- Type I - controls are defined and in place as of a particular point in time
- Type II - controls are defined, in place, and validated to be effective over a period of time
Type II provides customers more assurance since it also speaks to adherence to controls and operating effectiveness over time (in other words, the company is doing what it claims to do in order to safeguard customer data).
Can I request a copy of the ProsperOps SOC 2 Type II report?
Yes. Existing customers and prospects may request a copy of our SOC 2 Type II report by sending an email to compliance@prosperops.com. An NDA (non-disclosure agreement) is required before the report is released.
